Sources of Support SWEEAC, Inc. receives support from our partnering worship centers, community foundations, social organizations, individuals, and grocery chains. While food and clothing are vital to our organization, financial funding is essential for the continued growth and outreach within the community. In addition to our nine partner churches, SWEEAC is supported by the Atlanta Chapter of Epicureans, Atlanta Community Food Bank, Atlanta Mail Recovery Center, Atlanta Mayor's Office, Atlas Storage, Buckhead Bakery, DFACS, Gifts in Kind of United Way, Headland and Clover Cleaners, Marine's Toys for Tots, Publix Food Stores and Starbucks-Cascade. There are many easy ways you can contribute to the success of SWEEAC's Programs & Services...it only takes a little bit of your time to make a big difference in someone's life. Financial Support - All financial support checks can be made payable to SWEEAC, Inc. and mailed directly to 1040 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd, Atlanta, GA 30310. Food Pantry - We accept food contributions every day accept Tuesday and Friday. We accept all non perishable items, especially: peanut butter, baby formula, canned tuna, canned beans, canned soup, stews, and pasta, 100% fruit juice, canned fruits and vegetable, macaroni & cheese dinners, and whole grain, low sugar cereals. The Atlanta Community Food Bank supplies us with most food items. Visit their website at www.acfb.org. Clothing Closet - Our clothing closet is for everyone. Therefore, we accept clothing for all shapes and sizes - from infant to adult. We only accept clean clothing, new or used but fully intact. Please have clothing folded or hung before delivery. We also accept jewelry, purses, diapers, household items, books, and personal hygiene items (soap, deodorant, shampoo). Volunteers - We always need volunteers on food and clothing distribution days, food delivery day, and during all holiday distributions. Due to changes in our needs and seasons, please contact the Center to see how we can efficiently utilize your time. Thanksgiving Basket Distribution - Volunteers are needed as we prepare for our annual Thanksgiving Distribution. Please contact the Center for specific details. Christmas Basket Distribution - Volunteers are needed during the Christmas holiday season to help sort toys for children by age and gender. Please contact the Center for specific details. Grants - We have received recent grants from The Presbytery of Greater Atlanta, John Wieland Homes and Neighborhoods, The City of Atlanta, The Atlanta Community Food Bank, Faith And The City and The United Methodist Church. |
